Many of our clients select Kristen Taylor or one of her photographers to shoot their weddings and for good reason. She has a way of carturing the light and joy of the day and preserving all the little details that make each wedding special. Her work is beautiful! Here's a little insight into Kristen and her photography...

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your business and what you do?

Although my studio and home are in Birmingham, Michigan, I am a California girl both in history and at heart. I smile when the sun shines. If dress codes and the weather would allow, I would live entirely in stylish jeans, casual tops, and cute little flats (ideally all from Anthropologie). I love to go to outdoor concerts in the summertime and to try new restaurants with my husband.

I also happen to LOVE being a wedding photographer as well as being a business owner. Over the past nine years I have grown my business substantially and I now have quite a crew including two other Lead Photographers, a handful of Second Photographers, a handful of Wedding Day Assistants, an Editor and a Studio Assistant. They all make it possible to do what I do. They’re all such awesome .

You see so many weddings and all the gorgeous details, if you were getting married right now what would you incorporate into your special day?

In terms of wedding style, I love mismatched bridesmaid dresses (both in terms of style and color), long wooden tables with romantic rows of glowing candles, hanging candles (basically candles anywhere and everywhere), muted color palettes, mismatched metals and rose gold rings (I will likely have my diamond re-set into a rose gold setting soon), casual beach waves in hair with loose braids and flowers and dresses that are anything but ordinary.
