Tell us a little bit about yourself, your business and what you do?

My name is Rodney Lamar Page and I live in Lansing, Michigan.  I am a classically trained violinist and DJ.  I have been playing the violin for 28 years and a DJ for 10 years.  My business  is the Full Engagement Experience and I provide live violin services for weddings and DJ service for wedding receptions.  I have performed at weddings at Planterra for about three years and have been a groomsman in a wedding at Planterra too!

How did you get started?

I began playing the violin at the age of ten in the Southfield Public School District.  After graduating from Southfield High School in 1995 I then attended Michigan State University to pursue a degree in Music Education.  I played violin at my first wedding 21 years ago and I really enjoyed it.   It meant so much to me to provide the musical background for a couples magical day.  I began d-jaying ten years ago first to raise money for the music program in the school district that I was teaching in at the time.  I then began to DJ at my friends weddings and decided to merge my violin playing with my d-jaying for a joint entertainment package for my clients.

What is best your advice for your clients or brides planning their weddings?

Do as much as you can in advance!  There are many details to organize when planning the perfect wedding.  You can never start to early to get tasks done.  Make sure you secure your top vendors as early as you can.  You don't want the week of your wedding to be stressful because you are taking care of tasks that could have been completed earlier.

You see so many weddings and all the gorgeous details, if you were getting married right now what would you incorporate into your special day?

If I was getting married right now I would make sure to have the perfect entertainment for the wedding.  The entertainment is the lasting impression for your guests for your day!  You want to make sure that you have someone that engages your entire audience, not just a certain group of guests.  I would also incorporate an abundance of colorful flowers at my wedding.  I think the décor really adds to the overall look of a wedding or reception.
