2018 Wedding Trends

We've been looking ahead in this new year and discussing what we are seeing as the emerging trends for wedding design in 2018.  Here's a short list of what is hot for 2018.

Plant Aisles

At Planterra, we've been doing this for years since, of course, we love plants.  A plant aisle is a no-brainer in the Conservatory.  A plant lined aisle is beautiful in person and stunning in photography.  We are glad to see it is taking hold as a wedding trend this year. Here is one of our favorite couples, Marissa and Tyler, holding hands on their lush, green aisle.

Colored Candles

Style Me Pretty, BRIDES Magazine and Martha Stewart have all mentioned colorful candles as a trend for the new year.  And we love the look.  We have included colored tapers in several recent table settings and plan to use them more in the year ahead.

Here are a few tablescapes in the Conservatory that incorporated colorful candles.

Living Bars

Again plants are a leading trend in the wedding world.  Greenery is being introduced into the reception space as part of the bar decor.  Planterra's own bar...

Velvet

Such a rich, luxurious fabric as a back drop for your tablescape.  And it makes a great accessory.  Velvet will be fun to work with in 2018.

Colorful Floral

After a year or two of pale and blush, we are seeing a move toward more colorful floral designs.  Whether deep and rich or bright tones, saturated color is in.
