Floral Wedding Cakes

A trend becoming more and more popular in weddings (especially in garden weddings) is adding floral designs to the wedding cake.  We have seen an influx of pictures from our brides, bakeries and guests, tagging us on social media with the awesome floral wedding cakes they have seen or created.  We wanted to compile a few of our favorites (there are so many to choose from!) that highlight different ways you can style your dessert table with treats and floral!

The stunning cake in the header was from a spring wedding which utilized succulents of various colors and trailing "donkey tail" (not the formal name) to create a cascading floral affect.  This couple couldn't agree on just one cake - so they had 3!  This is a great example of thinking outside the box.  The floral utilized fills up the table making the 3 cakes all uniquely inviting.

Amanda & Seth had a unique cake with "flowers" made of all sugar.  The designer made succulents, billy balls, dahlia, hydrangea and fern curls to accent the cake.  Additionally this couple had an awesome birch wood stump the cake was sitting on with their initials engraved into the bark.

This wedding was a few years ago, but is one of our favorite dessert areas we’ve had. The designer utilized ranunculus and hydrangea’s on the cake – accenting a beautifully designed dessert table.

This artist utilized the bride’s “signature” blue color as a fondant base for this cake. Then utilized more fondant to create a bohemian flower design for this lovely late Spring wedding.

Another popular trend is gold-leaf on your cake.  Mixing gold with any floral color will make your cake pop in all the right ways.
