Take I-275 North towards I-94/Flint. Take exit 165 toward I-696 East/Port Huron. Follow signs for M-5 N and merge onto M-5 W. Turn right onto 14 Mile Road and travel East towards Drake Road. Turn left onto Drake Road. The Planterra Conservatory will be on the right-hand side.
Take US-24 South/Dixie Highway/Telegraph Road to Maple Road. Turn right onto Maple Road and travel West towards Drake Road. Follow the roundabout to Drake Road South. The Planterra Conservatory will be on your left-hand side.
Head East on Bishop International Airport towards West Bristol Road. Make a Right on West Bristol Road, merge on I-75 S/ US-23 S towards Detroit/Ann Arbor. Travel on US-23 S take exit 60A merging onto I-96 E towards Detroit. Take Exit 64, merging onto M-5 N. Take M-5 North to 14 Mile Road. Turn right onto 14 Mile Road and travel East towards Drake Road. Turn left onto Drake Road. The Planterra Conservatory will be on the right-hand side.
From Downtown Detroit:
Take the Lodge Freeway/M-10 North. Freeway ends and turns into Northwestern Highway. Continue on Northwestern Highway to 14 Mile Road. Turn left onto 14 Mile Road and travel West towards Drake Road. Turn right on Drake Road. The Planterra Conservatory will be on the right-hand side.
From the East:
Take I-696 West to Exit 10 to merge onto M-10 N towards Telegraph North/Northwestern Highway. Continue on Northwestern Highway to 14 Mile Road. Turn left onto 14 Mile Road and travel West towards Drake Road. Turn right on Drake Road. The Planterra Conservatory will be on the right-hand side.
From Ann Arbor:
Take M-14 E toward Plymouth/Livonia. Merge onto I-275 North. Take exit 165 toward I-696 East/Port Huron. Follow signs for M-5 N and merge onto M-5 W. What is included with the conservatory facility fee?
- Up to 5 hours use of the Conservatory, Southeast Michigan’s most unique wedding venue

If I have my reception in the conservatory, what is the fee for my ceremony?
An additional hour of Conservatory rental and labor fee to hold a ceremony in conjunction with a reception is $750.
May I use my own caterer?
Planterra’s award-winning culinary team is the exclusive food service provider at the Conservatory. Exceptions to this rule include: wedding cakes, cupcakes, dessert tables and late night snacks.
Is there a food and beverage minimum?
On a Friday or Sunday evening, there is a $6,000 food and beverage minimum; on a Saturday evening there is a $10,000 food and beverage minimum.
May I bring my own wine or alcoholic beverages?
Planterra’s liquor license does not permit BYOB. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from Planterra and served by a TIPS certified bar tender.
Does the Conservatory host teen events?
The Conservatory does not host teen celebrations. Exceptions to this policy include Shabbat dinners and Sunday brunches for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.
Will the Conservatory be too warm or cool?
The Conservatory is climate controlled in the winter and maintains pleasant temperatures throughout autumn, winter and spring. In the summer, the Conservatory is well ventilated and the temperature is typically the same as the outside. Air cooling units can be brought in at an additional fee, however due to inconsistencies in cooling the conservatory in June, July and August the Conservatory is closed in the summer for events requiring formal attire.
May I use my own florist?
The Planterra’s award winning floral design team is the exclusive provider of all flowers, plants and special event displays.
May I rent flowers and plants from the conservatory for my event?
Yes. Please contact the conservatory at 248.661.1515 to inquire about flower and plants rentals.
Is the Planterra floral department available for weddings and events not held at the conservatory?
Yes, our award-winning floral department is available for all special occasions. Please contact us at 248-661-1515.
May I choose not to have a valet service?
Valet parking is required for corporate events exceeding 56 guests and social events exceeding 70 guests. If you have organized alternative transportation, the valet requirement may be waived upon approval from Planterra. In accordance with the site conditions set forth by the Township, all events requiring valet parking must indicate “valet parking” on the invitation and that guests may not park on side streets. Due to morning traffic concerns, valet service is not permitted for events earlier than 10AM. The valet company is required to monitor the property during the first hour of the event to ensure there is no street parking on Drake Road or Nadine Lane and post cones provided by Planterra stating “no event parking, cars maybe towed” at the entrance of Nadine Lane.
Do you allow pets?
Domesticated dogs and cats are permitted if part of a wedding ceremony or presentation. However, during the party or reception pets must be leashed or caged. The owner must attend to the pet. In the event that the pet damages or soils the facility or merchandise, the host will be responsible for the clean-up costs and/or repairs.
Do you have a bridal room?
Planterra has private space with its own dressing area and restroom to serve the bridal party during an event. This area also serves as a headquarters for corporate and non-profit staff during events and fundraisers.
Can I purchase special botanical gifts to give to my guests?
Yes. Planterra has a wide variety of potted botanicals, orchids, and blooming plants as well as decorative containers that can be packaged as special take-away gifts from your event.
Is smoking allowed in the Conservatory?
We are a smoke-free facility. All smoking is restricted to outside of the building.
Do you have special rates for non-profit organizations?
Planterra Corporation budgets a limited number of donations and reduced rates for charitable 501c3 non profit organizations annually. Organizations requesting consideration are encouraged to apply as early as possible. A copy of the organization’s IRS determination letter and formal request from the head of the organization on letterhead is required for consideration.
