Classic December Wedding: Julie & Michael

Julie and Michael’s aesthetic is classic, elegant and modern but with an affinity for the natural. Their vision was for a “warm, romantic winter wedding.” Julie wanted her day to be highlighted with the light snowfall, lots of candlelight, twinkling white lights and to include a nod to the holiday season. They wanted something different - “a celebration in the middle of December not amongst a dozen other weddings in the spring and summer.” Julie and Michael looked to David for help with a design that he described as, “a winter wedding during Christmas time that expressed their style and captured touches of the whimsy of the season without reading as a Christmas wedding.” They certainly succeeded.

Julie was stunning in her fur stole and lace gown by Romona Keveza. And those shoes! We are still talking about her shoes.

The dining tables were set with silver-accented, glass chargers with custom-printed menus tucked into a black cotton napkins, a sprig of evergreen and petit box of homemade macaroons finished the look.  Julie shared, “the macaroons were made by me, my mom, my

mother-in-law and all of my mom’s wonderful friends. It took an entire day and was a lot of work but was such a great time! And the cookies were delicious.”

The centerpieces were modern glass cylinders with branches of curly willow enhanced with hanging chandelier crystals and either white Dendrobium or red Mokara orchids.  The base of the arrangement included petite arrangements of ranunculus, hypericum, anemones, seeded eucalyptus and Italian ruscus in

vintage knob containers.  The Conservatory was accented with an abundance of candles and café lighting. With fire pits roaring outside, their guests danced the night away.  It was truly a magical, winter wedding.  Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lipa!
